Pottery Classes, Wheel Throwing & Hand Building Workshops

I offer relaxed, hands-on pottery classes in wheel throwing and hand building, with intimate sessions for just one or two people at a time. Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply looking to explore your creativity, these pottery workshops offer a welcoming space to learn new skills, experiment with clay and enjoy the process of making something by hand.

With plenty of individual guidance and encouragement, you’ll have the freedom to work at your own pace, discover traditional pottery techniques and experience creating your own handmade ceramics.

Intro to wheel throwing

This relaxed, hands-on pottery course is perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting to give wheel throwing a try. Over four two-hour sessions, you’ll be guided through the process of creating your own pottery, from preparing the clay and learning to centre it on the wheel, to shaping, trimming and glazing your finished pieces.

Wheel throwing improver

Designed for those who have already had an introduction to wheel throwing and would like to take their skills further, these relaxed pottery sessions offer the opportunity to practice, refine your techniques and explore. With individual guidance tailored to your experience, you can focus on improving your centring, throwing more consistent shapes, refining the walls of your pots and gaining greater control over the clay.

Pinch & create

Explore one of the oldest pottery techniques in this introduction to pinch pottery workshop. With guidance you’ll learn how to shape and refine clay using your hands and basic tools, creating a small bowl, trinket dish or incense holder. Experiment with form, texture and decorative details to give your piece its own character.

Roll, shape & texture

In this introduction to slab building workshop you’ll learn how to roll, cut, shape and join clay to make a functional or decorative piece, such as a textured tray or wall pocket. Experiment with surface patterns, textures and finishing details to make the design your own.

Coil & form

In this workshop you’ll learn how to construct a small vessel or sculptural pot, building up its walls and shaping its form as you go, one coil at a time. Experiment with curves, proportions and surface textures to create a piece with its own distinctive character.
